Job description

Koda North is hiring Software Developers at junior, mid, and senior levels to help build, maintain, and improve reliable web applications, APIs, databases, integrations, internal tools, and business software.

This role is a good fit for developers who understand how real software is planned, built, tested, released, and maintained over time. Depending on your experience level, you may work on backend services, frontend features, database workflows, third-party integrations, bug fixes, performance improvements, production support, or larger technical improvements.

We are looking for candidates with strong English communication skills who are reliable, thoughtful, comfortable working in remote teams, and able to build clean, maintainable software for real business needs.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain web applications, APIs, internal tools, and business software

Develop application features across backend, frontend, database, and integration layers

Write clean, readable, maintainable, and testable code

Build and consume REST APIs, service logic, and data-driven workflows

Work with databases, queries, data models, forms, and application data

Translate product requirements and technical guidance into working software

Fix bugs, troubleshoot issues, and improve existing application behavior

Improve performance, reliability, security, and maintainability

Work with existing codebases and make safe, thoughtful improvements

Test your work carefully before delivery and help prevent regressions

Follow team standards for Git, pull requests, code reviews, documentation, and release workflows

Communicate progress clearly, ask good questions, and raise blockers early

Collaborate with engineering, product, QA, design, and client-facing teams

Support releases, production fixes, and ongoing product improvements

For senior candidates, contribute to technical planning, architecture discussions, code quality, and mentoring where needed

Job requirements

2+ years of professional software development experience for junior candidates

4+ years of professional software development experience for mid-level candidates

7+ years of professional software development experience for senior candidates

Strong understanding of software development fundamentals and clean code practices

Experience building real web applications, APIs, internal tools, or business software

Experience with at least one backend language such as Python, Java, C#, Node.js, or similar

Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript for web application development

Experience working with REST APIs, application data, validation, and error handling

Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server

Ability to write maintainable code and reason clearly about application behavior

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across software, database, and integration issues

Experience with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows

Strong written and spoken English communication skills

Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment

Reliable ownership of assigned work from clarification through delivery

For senior candidates, ability to lead technical work, evaluate tradeoffs, and guide implementation quality

Experience building SaaS products, dashboards, portals, admin panels, or internal business tools

Experience with Python, Java, Node.js, Django, FastAPI, Spring Boot, Express, or similar backend frameworks

Experience with React, Vue, Angular, Next.js, or similar frontend frameworks

Experience with AWS, Docker, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, or cloud deployments
